How do I sync my schedule in LibStaffer to Outlook / Exchange / Office365?

As Nova Southeastern University employees, emails, calendars, shared drives, and the like are provided through Office365. If we are scheduled for shifts through LibStaffer, it is important that those commitments are reflected in our Office365 calendars so that colleagues -- and other Microsoft apps -- can see that we are busy.

Answer

You have two different but related options, depending on what you're looking for:

  1. You can sync your schedules with Office 365 / Outlook / Exchange, so that your commitments are reflected in Sharkmail and Calendar. This means, for instance, that if a colleague is trying to schedule a meeting with you, they will be able to see that between certain hours you are busy. They can't see specific details, but they know you are committed.

Additionally, all this information is available to you while you're in email or another Microsoft app. You don't have to check LibStaffer when you are scheduled, and as your shift approaches you might get a little notification.

  2. You can also subscribe to your schedules through iCal, which is a way that you can import a whole calendar into other services: like Outlook, or Google Calendar, or something else.
